Die Sony DSC-RX100 Mark IV Digitalkamera ist NTSC- und PAL-umschaltbar, während sie das XAVC S-Format verwendet, um Aufnahmen mit hoher Bitrate bis zu 100 Mbit/s für professionelle Videoqualität zu gewährleisten. Bei der Aufnahme wird das kreative Potenzial durch die Möglichkeit erweitert, Zeitlupen-Filme mit hoher Bildrate mit bis zu 40x langsamer als in Echtzeit aufzunehmen. Diese Zeitlupenclips werden mit 960 fps, 480 fps oder 240 fps aufgenommen und können dann mit 1920 x 1080, in 60p, 30p oder 24p wiedergegeben werden, wenn die Kamera auf NTSC eingestellt ist. Für PAL werden Zeitlupenclips mit 1000 fps, 500 fps oder 250 fps aufgenommen und können dann mit 1920 x 1080, entweder in 50p oder 25p wiedergegeben werden. Während der Aufnahme mit Videoauflösungen unter 4K, wie beispielsweise Full HD 1920 x 1080p, können Videoclips mit einer Länge von bis zu 29 Minuten gespeichert werden.
