Sony’s FX6 full-frame camera is designed to deliver versatile, film-like images in a truly compact form. With up to 15+ stops of dynamic range, Sony’s S-Cinetone gamma for film-like skin tones, and up to 10-bit 4:2:2 XAVC-I recording, the FX6 is the ideal complement to your FX9 or VENICE footage, and is also suitable for documentary, gimbal, and drone shooting. The FX6 camera combines a full-frame 4K Exmor R sensor with a BIONX XR engine for ultra-sensitive shooting in a range of settings with a base ISO of 800, as well as a high-sensitivity mode of ISO 12800 for nuanced low-light scenes.

Weighing in at just 890 grams, the FX6 body is nearly 1 Kg lighter than the FX9 body. Measuring 11 by 15 centimeters, it offers a full-frame sensor in a body comparable to the Sony FS5 with S35 sensor. The FX6 fits seamlessly into the pro-cine workflow on set, but also offers a number of features that are beneficial to the single-operator user. These include fast and accurate phase-detection autofocus with face detection and real-time eye autofocus, automatic and manual ND filter settings for fast exposure compensation, and a 3.5-inch LCD monitor with time-saving touchscreen access to key menu settings and versatile positioning for convenient operation.

As part of Sony’s Cinema Line, the FX6 shares key imaging features with established cameras such as the VENICE and FX9. Common core features include a full-frame sensor, film-like color reproduction, a compact, lightweight form factor, professional connectivity, and advanced autofocus options.
