Canon’s RF-mount EOS C400 6K Full-Frame Digital Cinema Camera integrates a new 6K full-frame, back-illuminated CMOS sensor, offering triple ISO bases of 800, 3200, and 12,800 for diverse lighting environments.
This sensor minimizes noise, improves sensitivity, and enhances 4K imagery through 6K oversampling. It supports various recording formats, including 6K60 Cinema RAW and multiple 12-bit Cinema RAW Light modes, along with 10-bit 4:2:2 oversampled 4K up to 120p and slow-motion recording up to UHD 4K120 and 2K180.
The camera includes CFexpress Type-B and SD card slots for simultaneous raw recording and proxy capture. ND filtration adjustments up to 10 stops are possible, preserving depth of field. The RF mount’s short flange back makes it suitable for gimbal, handheld, or drone use. The improved dual-pixel autofocus accurately tracks subjects and detects animals.
Interfaces like 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HDMI, dual mini-XLR, timecode, genlock, and return video connectors are included, alongside an automatic clear-scan mode to reduce LED flicker. Ergonomic enhancements feature a touchscreen LCD, adjustable mount, and an articulated handgrip with assignable buttons. Ethernet and Canon’s IP protocols enable remote control and IP streaming, compatible with Canon RCCA for multicamera control.
