The Atomos Shinobi II 5.2″ HDMI HDR Monitor is designed for vloggers, photographers, and content creators, offering significant upgrades from the original model. It features a slimmer, lighter body and a 50% brighter display, now reaching 1500 cd/m². The monitor supports USB-C camera control for various camera brands like Canon, Panasonic, Sony, and Z CAM, with future updates planned for FUJIFILM, Nikon, OM System, and Sigma. The new AtomOS 11 interface provides intuitive navigation and enhanced image tools for precise exposure settings.

This device can control mirrorless and DSLR cameras via USB-C or a 2.5mm LANC port, offering additional flexibility. A camera status indicator monitors recording settings, battery life, and remaining recording time, and a red edge display signals active recording.

The Shinobi II’s 5.2″ touchscreen is bright enough for both indoor and outdoor use, and the HDMI 1.4 input supports up to DCI/UHD 4K30 and 1080p60 resolutions. HDR HLG and HDR PQ monitoring modes are included, along with the ability to upload custom LUTs for personalized looks. Frame guides are available for various aspect ratios, including cinema and social media formats.

Weighing just 7.4 oz, the monitor is designed for easy handling, with a central battery plate for balance and anti-twist mounting options. Powering the Shinobi II can be done through multiple methods, including an L-series battery, a dummy battery, or a USB-C PD charger, and it can also charge cameras via its 13W USB-C PD output.
