Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro PL Mount

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro is a compact cinema camera with a Super 35 sensor. Ours has been permanently converted to PL mount.

PL mount: good to know before you book

• The PL mount has no electronic contacts. You set iris and focus on the lens, and the camera receives no lens data.
• Lenses whose rear elements extend more than 40 mm past the PL flange won't fit. Most modern Super 35 lenses fit.
• Back focus is set with shims, so there's nothing for you to adjust.
• EF lenses can no longer be used.

Image and recording

The 23.10 x 12.99 mm sensor has a resolution of 6144 x 3456, 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO 400 and 3200. In Blackmagic RAW, you can shoot 6K at up to 50 fps, 6K 2.4:1 and 4K DCI at up to 60 fps, and 2.8K at up to 120 fps for slow motion. For anamorphic lenses there's a 3.7K 6:5 mode. ProRes is available in 4K DCI, Ultra HD and HD.

You can switch between the built-in 2-, 4- and 6-stop ND filters right on the camera body.

Handling, media and power

The 5-inch tilting touchscreen reaches 1500 nits, so it stays readable outdoors. A viewfinder is also included. You can record to CFast 2.0, SD UHS-II, or straight to an external SSD over USB-C. The SSD holder is part of the kit.

One NP-F570 battery lasts about 60 minutes in 6K RAW at 24 fps. For longer shoot days, power the camera with one of the included D-Tap cables.

Audio

Two mini XLR inputs with phantom power take mics or line-level signals, and two mini XLR to XLR adapter cables are included. There's also a 3.5 mm input, a headphone output and a built-in stereo mic.
