The Misfit Atom is designed to push the definition of a lightweight matte box and was specifically conceived for gimbal and Steadicam use and it is incredibly strong and light.
Lighter Than Light
When you’re pushed for weight, you won’t need to tape a filter to the lens anymore. With Misfit Atom you can remove the shade and just use it as a filter holder. The frame itself weighs in at 98 grams and adding the shade brings it up to about 195 grams. The frame can hold up to 2 PV or 4×4 filters or a combination of both. It is designed to fit 114mm lenses, and can work with smaller lenses using our range of Misfit adapters.
Super Compact
Despite being super compact, it features incredible field of view covering up to a 14mm Cooke with 2 PV stages and also works with RED Pro Zooms at 5K! If you want to be even lighter, you can detach the shade, and just use the filters. The shade detaches in seconds. The clamp is 114mm, and you can connect to virtually any lens with our range of Misfit adaptors.
Retractable Top Flag
The custom built carbon fibre top flag gives the Misfit Atom better light control and helps improve contrast and resolution. The top flag is easily retractable for use with or without the shade and barely adds any weight
to your kit.
Unique Filter System
The trayless filter holder allows you to load filters directly into the core, keeping weight to an absolute minimum. You can still tilt filters for total flare control. You can use one or two filters. Either 4×4 or 4×5.65, or even a combination of both.
Tilting Filter Trays
Why put up with unwanted filter reflections? You don’t have to, and with Misfit Atom it couldn’t be easier to remove them. Simply place the filters in the diagonal position and the problem is gone. The A.R.F bracket allows you to tilt the filters by 6 degrees to get rid of unwanted reflections and give you total flare control.
