Description

This 5-pin XLR module replaces the standard 3-pin connector on the Deity THEOS DXTX. It gives the plug-on transmitter two mic inputs, so you can record a stereo microphone or two mono mics straight to the DXTX’s microSD card, for example ambience in M/S or X/Y, or two sources at a concert.

Installing the module

Switch off the DXTX and remove the batteries. Remove the two front screws with a Torx driver, pull off the 3-pin cone and carefully unplug the internal cable. Connect the module with the contacts facing up, reattach it without pinching the cable and tighten the original screws. After switching on, the DXTX starts in stereo mode, and you can set the gain of each channel separately.

Good to know

  • With the 5-pin module, the DXTX records in 24-bit only, not in 32-bit float
  • Timecode via cable only works with 5 V bias or line, not with 48 V phantom power
  • The Neutrik connector is shielded against RF from the mic to the housing
  • Pin assignment: 1 ground, 2/3 MIC1, 4/5 MIC2
