This Lexar Professional reader offloads CFexpress Type B cards over USB-C. It is built for USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20 Gb/s) and reaches up to 1900 MB/s, so backing up large RAW and 8K files at the end of a shooting day goes quickly.
You only get full speed if your computer has a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 port, which you’ll mostly find on certain desktop PCs. Macs don’t support Gen 2×2, so on a Mac the reader runs at 10 Gb/s and reads about 900 MB/s. The reader still works on any USB-C or USB-A port, just slower.
The reader is bus-powered and plug-and-play on Mac and PC. The included 2-in-1 cable connects to USB-C and, with the attached adapter, USB-A. The reader only takes CFexpress Type B cards, not XQD or SD.
